Casein micelles are produced from hydrolysed fraction of colostrum. Casein has numerous applications in nutraceutical, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries due to nano-micellar nature. 

Its structural and physicochemical properties like amphiphilic and non-toxic nature make it just fit to be used in drug delivery systems as found in many studies. It has ability to carry both hydrophobic and hydrophilic drugs. In fact, Casein has a potential to be used in anti-erosion agents to prevent enamel erosion in dentistry. Casein has been used in infant formula and as a pre-sleep supplement as it is supposed to help in protein synthesis of muscle, thus increasing muscle mass and strength.
